Who is Renewed Stories?

Hi! My name is Dominique Bonneville (she/her), and I am a registered provisional psychologist in Calgary, Alberta. I have been working in mental health for about 4 years. I have focused much of my training, professional development, and work experience on supporting youth and their families as they navigate a wide range of concerns.

Therapy can be a helpful tool during times of increased stress, identity struggles, life transitions, and even everyday life. I tend to take a holistic, human-centred, and largely narrative approach to therapy, meaning I believe in the power of human connection and story. I also believe that all areas of our life interact and can therefore be a focus of therapy. Therapy can focus on our general mental health, identity, school or work, or family relationships, as they all impact one another.

In addition to my professional passion for working with teens, young adults, and their families, I also love dogs, nature, tea, and soaking up quality time with my loved ones.

As a psychologist, I believe there is a lot of power in story. The stories that we have been told about ourselves and the story that we tell ourselves can shape how we act, feel, behave, and grow. Therefore, I believe therapy can be a place where we explore what elements of your story you'd like to highlight and what you want the next chapter of life to look like for you. This important basis of the story is where the idea of renewing our stories (AKA Renewed Stories) emerged! Everyone has a story, so I want to know, what's your story?
